Denzel was born and raised at Sheffield, Texas, surrounded by huge remote ranches and mesas. Great personal freedom enabled him to roam the land, climb the mountains, swim in the Pecos River, read and imagine a Comanche behind every bolder along the rim rocks.
With a successful career in Federal Service behind him, a supportive wife at his side, and their daughters launched, he began living his dream of writing. His stories are inspired by tales from the old days and remain true to the history of their times and places.
He is slow to adopt a theme before starting a novel. His characters resemble ordinary humans thrust into extraordinary circmumstances. The sagas have not been overkilled by scores of previous writers. Drama, action, and tender romance are blended with a dash of situation humor to form adventures never before enjoyed.
A favorite technique is the use of real historical characters interacting with the fictional heros and heroins. Readers can move into the story and feel it happen.
